Ayabe City is home to a number of free-range chicken farms.
This mean that wherever you go you are sure to find fresh, delicious chicken.
But one of the best options is a small local restaurant owned and operated by one of the chicken farms.
Talk about fresh!
Getting started with our first plate of chicken.
Friends took me here for dinner one night and the simple meal was fantastic.
We cooked our own meal on the hot plate in the center of our table.
In addition to the regular parts of the chicken I was familiar with,
we also got to try just about every part of the chicken imaginable.
Getting ready to cook.
The friendly, family run restaurant also had a few side order options,
unlimited rice and a small drinks menu.
If you like chicken then this is a great option.
Let's eat!
Located near Ayabe Onsen, Kashiwaya is a great option for dinner,
possibly after a visit to the nearby Onsen beforehand.
In addition to being a chicken restaurant, Kashiwaya occasionally hosts a farms market where you can find a wide variety of local produce,
vegetables, baked goods and more.
Kashiwaya is located a 30-minute drive from Ayabe Station.
